Opt in Information

The outstanding natural beauty of Cumbria and the Lake District makes it one of the most loved and visited areas in Britain. Visitor pressure here is enormous but in order for us all to keep on enjoying it, we believe that it is only fair that we all try and put a little back to help look after this beautiful area.

The Tourism and Conservation Partnership supports many conservation projects by redistributing donations received from Tourism businesses themselves and our visitors. Your contributions help fund the maintenance and repair of countless eroded footpaths, improve visitor access and improve lots of wild life habitats. Over the last 10 years the partnership has raised and distributed over £1,000,000 to conservation projects in the Lake District. Little of this work would have been done without visitor donations.

Broadrayne Farm Cottages is a member of the Partnership and supports sustainable tourism. By choosing to opt in you too are helping to protect the Lake District we all love. You may opt in or out of any voluntary donation but any donations you do make will go directly to a conservation project that Broadrayne Farm Cottage owners have chosen. Please ask for more information regarding our current projects.

Thank you for reading this and for any donations you wish to make.

These photos show restoration works to and the finished results of the Grasmere Lake shore footpath restoration project.  This is just one example of the work achieved through our visitor’s donations to the Tourism & Conservation Partnership.
